I come from a Pilates teacher back ground. I always need to work a flexible schedule no matter what I do. Flexibility isn't enough when you have a family of 4 and a strong travel bug!! I also needed a business to fit my flexible schedule. This business is exactly that. So we decided to take our family with the business on a 3 month trip to Australia and South East Asia. I have to pinch myself that this is my reality now. A business that is truly flexible!!

HI I'M CHRIS, I am excited for my business Authentic Wealth Education, for the ability of helping others learn new ways of becoming independent, financially and intellectually.
I have worked in "blue collar" industries most of my life, and always felt that my efforts rarely matched my finances or the work life balance that I desired. Family time, travel, hobbies, and life passions just didn't fit that busy schedule. Even after retiring, I still found myself having to work multiple part time jobs to meet financial demands, and still did not have the work-life balance I desired. However, with the support of my family and thanks to this business, I feel like I have my own personal support squad in my back pocket. I have found the way to have the balance and still earn a great income.

THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I had tried many businesses, the "Party" business, the self employed ventures, and even a franchise. All of which were businesses that did not generate enough income to be self sufficient and had to be worked after hours of my current full time job which took time away from my young family at the time. Some of them were self-fulfilling, or fun with little income, and some were just plain hard work with little income. None of them allowed me time with my family, travel, or the freedom to enjoy my hobbies and passions. After all the hard work and bust incomes, I went searching for something where I could fulfill my desires, didn't take expensive start up costs, and something that I could do outside normal working hours, which could eventually replace my current job with the flexibility that I desired.

THE BUSINESS THAT WAS AN EDUCATION: I purchased a franchise with a friend. It went well to start, including holding both records for the highest cash sales opening day, and opening month. Those records, I am proud to say, still stand today. Shortly after though, the financial markets crashed and our sales declined with the economy. We kept our business afloat by putting in long hours and not drawing a wage. By doing so, I needed to get a second income just to pay bills. This lead to working 3 part time jobs to cover my household finances. After 5 years, we sold the business. This business taught me that I have wisdom and ideas that can be put to use and that I am capable of great achievements by staying focused and persistent. I was no longer interested in giving my valuable time to make other's wealthy. I desired to have something on my terms, my time.

THE BOOK THAT LED ME TO SUCCESS: In 2006 I was given the book "The Secret" (by Rhonda Byrne) which introduced me to the "law of attraction," This was more like a reintroductions to the metaphysical teaching my parents were promoting to me through religion. It ignited a fire of personal development books purchases and my library swelled with multiple authors and I have been an avid apprentice ever since. Knowing that the business would be promoting and merchandising personal development material was the icing on the cake to making my decision in becoming a business owner.
